The photographs of these four turtles were taken during the period 5 -12 August 1999 in the same areas as those taken in 1998.
1.
The smaller of two large turtles marked on scute L1, horizontally rising for
air.
2.
The same turtle finding a grazing position at the edge of a turtle grass meadow.

The same turtle grazing with the Remoras on its carapace.

The same turtle (with Remoras) starting to clear an area with front flippers.

flippers tucked back after a frontal swimming stroke.

The smaller turtle chipped at marginal scutes 5 & 6 from the bottom, opposite
scute R3. The turtle, having surfaced for air, is traveling just above the
grass returning to its grazing area.

The Turtle marked on scute L2 finishing a blade of grass readying to move
toward a location on the edge of a semi grassed area.

of grass. Note body posture with rear fins lower than front fins in a position
of readiness.

scute R3. The turtle moving across a mixed turtle grass meadow returning to
a location on the circumference of its feeding circle.

The same turtle with the chip opposite R3. The turtle stopped en route to
its feeding place selected a choice wide blade of grass and broke it off with
a left headed movement, and, with the assistance of its front left flipper,
is ingesting the grass.
