Acknowledgments
First and foremost I would like to thank my wife, Ronni, for without her suggestion to visit a tropical paradise beach near historical venues, this project would have never come to fruition. Her enthusiasm and support made this work a reality. Then the staff of the Akumal Ecology Center, who simply asked people to report any turtle sightings, and, when I reported, thought the findings important. Subsequently, the Center's, Luis Manuel Ortiz, Director of Turtle Project, and Kate Robinhawk, Director of Education and Communication, whose interest, excitement and appreciation for the original notations and photographs encouraged the work. Then, Jesus Rosiles Nieto, who took over the Turtle project and put me in contact with Alejandro Arenas of the Foundation to Protect Marine Turtles, in Xcaret. I would also like to thank my colleagues Rick, Ted and Arty who commented on the findings, and Cindy, who provided models and books. Finally, I would like to thank my family and friends, who showed an interest and gave support.
